Translation of Computer Science and Mathematics Courses into American Sign Language for Deaf or Hard of Hearing Students ----------------------------------- ABSTRACT ----------------------------------- Most of the computer science, mathematics, and other sciences are taught using modern technologies that make teaching an effective learning experience beneficial for students. However, there is room for improving the current technology to become suited well enough for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing students when they are attending STEM courses (e.g., science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). This project describes four objectives: 1. Create an application that can read text from PowerPoint lectures. 2. Convert English sentences into ASL sentences by applying proper grammar rules. 3. Create a signing gesture repository for computer science related keywords. 4. Build a web application to display the signing avatar and PowerPoint presentation.
