SHORT CV ----------------------------------- Jo Lahaye is the first CEO of The MMBase Foundation, project manager at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, and chairman of HollandOpen; the Dutch platform for open standards, open source software and open content. He has a background in journalism, worked as an ICT project-manager and implemented many different CMS, especially in higher education. He also advises many Dutch organizations on the use of open source software and is the author of many articles on open source and open standards issues as well as software patents. He has authored multiple articles on this subject, including an article in the IBM Systems Journal. He is often invited as a speaker for conferences while he is also involved with the organization of a number of conferences, for instance the Holland Open Software Conference 2006. MMBase is, especially in The Netherlands, a widly used web content management system. Broadcasters, publishers, educational institutions and (local) governments share knowledge, expertise and development. Where as governments developed a strong authentication and many procedures concerning workflow, the broadcasters focus was on streaming video and multimedia and the educational field is using and developing a professional e-learning environment. The MMBase Foundation brings together the best of these worlds. And now, for example, governments are using streaming techniques to present council meetings and e-learning for their new employees.
