Faculty of Computer Science Iaşi
OPODIS'25 is co-organized by the Faculty of Computer Science, one of the fifteen faculties of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi (UAIC), with logistical support from the nonprofit Romanian Association of Computational Linguistics (ARLC), and Eventbook SRL for registration provisioning.
UAIC is the oldest higher education institution in Romania. Since 1860, the university has been carrying on a tradition of excellence and innovation in the fields of education and research. With over 24.000 students and 700 academic staff, the university enjoys a high prestige at national and international level.
The conference will be held in the Aula Magna "Mihai Eminescu", within the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University main building located at a 15 minutes walk from the central Piata Unirii plaza.
Iaşi is the most important political, economic and cultural centre of the province of Moldavia as well as one of the oldest cities in Romania. Located in the northeastern part of the country, Iaşi was for many centuries the crossing point of the most important commercial routes linking Poland, Hungary, Russia and Constantinople.
Over more than 500 years, since its first attestation in 1408, history and culture have moulded the city's unique character. The city prides itself with establishing the first Romanian university. Today, Iaşi is home to five universities.
The city provides various attractions, like the largest botanical garden in Romania which spans an area of almost 80ha, the Palace of Culture considered the city symbol building hosting 4 permanently opened museums and various temporary exhibitions and one of the most appreciated operas in Romania, opening the season typically in mid-September hosted by a beautiful, recently renovated concert hall. Many other touristic objectives like historical buildings or sights are available in the city.
